To all Haitian Compas Festival fans, sponsors and performers,
On behalf of the entire team at the Haitian Compas Festival, thank you for your patience over the past few weeks. We sincerely appreciate everyone’s messages of support and concern about the future of the show.
With the “Stay at Home” directive and other preventive measures in place nation wide, we understand how crucial it is that Compas fans have time to make important decisions and plans regarding the remainder of 2020.
The Florida Governor’s declaration of a public health emergency, the President’s State of Emergency during this world pandemic and the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention’s Interim Guidance for COVID-19 makes the realization of the festival this year impossible. With the safety and health of all our Haitian Compas Festival participants in mind, we have come to the very difficult decision to reschedule the festival to May 15, 2021 in Miami, Florida.
We completely understand how extremely frustrating this is because so many of you have been looking forward to coming to the Haitian Compas Festival, having already made travel arrangements, but you understand that this is totally out of our control. We continue to defer to the authorities for guidance and there is no higher priority for us than the health, safety and physical well-being of each of you and your families.
All attendees’ tickets already purchased will be honored and transferred to Haitian Compas Festival 2021, there is no action required on your part.
Later this month, you will see the date changes reflected on Eventbrite, we will update the website to highlight the rescheduled date as quickly as possible and we encourage all of you who had made travel arrangements to call the airlines and let them know about the date changes, they have been extremely accommodating with change fees during this Corona Pandemic.
We wish you and your loved ones good health, wellness and peace of mind.
The Haitian Compas Festival Management Team
