US Immigration and customs enforcement deports 68 Haitian nationals
68 Haitian deportees are scheduled to land in Port-au-Prince this Tuesday afternoon on a special US immigration chartered airliner. These compatriots were being held in Louisiana
Haiti’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Claude Joseph who confirms the news has given the guarantee that all necessary measures will be taken on the health front, in order to welcome these Haitian nationals.
“Upon their arrival in Haiti, these Haitian citizens will be placed in quarantine by the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP) which has already made the related arrangements,” said the minister.
According to different sources, at least one of the deportees came in contact with someone infected by the corona virus while in incarceration.
Haiti’s Health Ministry announced this morning that one person tested positive yesterday bringing to 25 the number of infections with one death recorded.
