Jean Michel Lapin appointed interim Prime Minister
President Jovenel Moise has appointed Jean Michel Lapin acting Prime Minister “to manage current affairs while waiting for the formation of a new government”.
Lapiin served as Minister of Culture and Communication in the Ceant government.
Jean-Henry Céant has still not submitted his resignation to the President of the Republic although 93 Deputies voted on Monday to fire him. Ceant claims the vote was illegal and arbitrary since he was responding to the Senate’s invitation while the lower house voted his dismissal.
Jean Michel Lapin will be installed at the Primature this Thursday morning by President Jovenel Moise.
