Jean Henry-Ceant has resigned.
In a letter sent to President Jovenel Moise this Thursday morning, Jean-Henry Ceant has finally submitted his resignation as Prime Minister.
“I just read in the newspaper “Le Moniteur” the appointment of Mr. Jean Michel Lapin as interim Prime Minister to manage current affairs.
I took note of it. To spare the country, which so badly needs peace, a constitutional complication, I am therefore submitting my resignation as Prime Minister” says Ceant in the letter.
Jean-Henry Ceant was voted out of office by an overwhelming majority at the lower chamber of parliament last Monday.
