Haiti’s government urges the population to resume regular activities

In a note released Sunday afternoon, Haiti’s government asks the population to resume its regular activities as of Monday February 18th.
The country has been rocked by streets demonstrations over the last nine days. These demonstrations have brought all social and economic activities to a halt.

“The Government of the Republic of Haiti invites the entire population to resume normal activities on Monday, February 18, 2019.

Schools, universities, commercial and industrial enterprises and public administration will operate at regular schedule.

While continuing to guarantee the democratic and constitutional rights of the population, the Government of the Republic passed the firm instruction to the various institutions in charge of public security and national security, in particular the National Police (PNH), in charge of protecting lives and goods, to accompany this return to normal life”.
