Haiti votes not to recognize the new mandate of Nicolas Maduro. The Republic of Haiti voted on Thursday, January 10, 2019, in favor of a resolution of the Organization of American States (OAS) that does not recognize the legitimacy of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro. Haiti and the Dominican Republic are among 19 countries that voted for the resolution. 6 countries have approved the text and 8 others have abstained. Fellow artists pay tribute to Frantz Courtois Musician and journalist Frantz Courtois, former editor in chief of the newspaper “Le Matin”, died Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the age of 70. His daughter Christine Courtois says his father died from complication  following surgery. He was diabetic.
